Before the day and everyone else starts pulling at your attention, take a little time for yourself. Join me for 10-Minute Morning Yoga with a focus on balance, concentration and stepping out of familiar patterns. Today, we explore what happens when we give movements we know a slightly different approach.
We begin by reversing our usual Cat–Cow breathing, then move through Downward-Facing Dog, Malasana squats, Chair Pose and standing balances. Figure Four Chair, Tree Pose, forward lunges, prayer twists and Warrior III give us opportunities to notice how we shift our weight and where we place our attention. There are optional vinyasas along the way—and room for wobbles, imperfect attempts and choosing what works for your practice.
Card Pull
Our closing card is “Passion,” depicting a Standing Forward Fold, from the Yoga Wisdom Oracle Deck. Its printed message reads: “Regular committed practice creates inspiration and energy.” I reflect on why I started Ten-Minute Mornings: a little yoga to ground the day without needing to get to a long class. We’re not trying to manufacture something that isn’t there. We’re cultivating what is, through the simple commitment of showing up.
