The Yoga of Effort explores how effort functions best when it’s skillful, attentive, and well-placed. Drawing from decades of yoga practice, this essay reframes effort not as strain or self-worth, but as a tool—one that serves clarity, breath, and sustainable practice both on and off the mat.

We started 2024 with our Mindfulness Series, exploring a new topic and the “power” it contains. Then, beginning in April 2024, we started our Deep Dive into the Eight Limbs of Yoga, as outlined by Patañjali in the Yoga Sutras. Now, we’re looking for how our yoga practice can apply to all that comes up in our daily lives.

It’s never
about the shape.

When most folks (especially in the West) hear “yoga,” they imagine people twisted into pretzels, standing on their hands or so completely woo-woo that their feet never touch the ground.

I won’t lie: I know some of those folks, and most of them are pretty great … but it’s not me.

Daily Flow Yoga is here for folks like us who want to incorporate simple, do-able mindfulness practices every day but don’t really know where to start.
