The Daily Flow Practice Blog is completely free to everyone. Each post includes reflections and insights, as well as video and audio content, that I think will help us move forward to our deepest practice. I say “we” because, like you, I’m just a student. The only difference is that (a) I have a website and (b) I spend a lot of time thinking about this stuff.

The Yoga of Chaos

In The Yoga of Chaos, I share a story from my early days of teaching yoga — when a noisy party outside my studio completely threw me off balance. Back then, I blamed the distraction; now I see it as the lesson I needed. Yoga isn’t about escaping chaos but learning to stay calm within it. Rooted in the teachings of Patañjali and B.K.S. Iyengar, this post explores how mindful movement and breath help quiet the mind — on and off the mat.

We started 2024 with our Mindfulness Series, exploring a new topic and the “power” it contains. Then, beginning in April 2024, we started our Deep Dive into the Eight Limbs of Yoga, as outlined by Patañjali in the Yoga Sutras.

about the shape.

When most folks (especially in the West) hear “yoga,” they imagine people twisted into pretzels, standing on their hands or so completely woo-woo that their feet never touch the ground.

I won’t lie: I know some of those folks, and most of them are pretty great … but it’s not me.

Daily Flow Yoga + Meditation is here for folks like us who want to incorporate simple, do-able mindfulness practices every day but don’t really know where to start.
