Does vinyasa yoga sometimes feel rushed? In today’s 10-Minute Morning Yoga practice, I explore how a steady four-count breath can guide Sun Salutations A and B. We start by counting the breath, add movement, then practice trusting our own breathing—even when it doesn’t line up exactly with the teacher’s cues.
We move through forward folds, plank, Chaturanga, Upward Facing Dog and Downward Facing Dog, adding Chair Pose and Warrior One in Sun Salutation B. Some transitions cover more ground than others, but the breath remains our reference. I offer Child’s Pose as an option and remind us that we can meet again in Down Dog without rushing to keep up.
Today’s Ten-Minute Mornings runs a little longer: about 13 minutes of breathing and movement, followed by our card and reflection.
Our card is “Eternal Existence,” depicting Warrior Three, with the message: “The body is temporary, but the true self is everlasting.”
I reflect on appearance, comparison and choosing to connect with something deeper. I share my own belief while leaving room for yours: whatever we believe about what comes after this life, we can choose what feels meaningful in the life we’re living now.
