Enlightenment

sun breaking through clouds

So we’ve spent twelve weeks together. We must have attained full Nirvana or Enlightenment by now, right? Of course, the journey has just begun!

We end in much the way we began: with setting intentions but looking beyond to consider how we’d like to show up in the world.

“Enlightenment” Activities

Journal Prompt

It is my fervent hope that, for each of us, our work has just begun.

If you only journal once this week, use that ten minutes to really reflect on your next steps. How do you want to show up in the world? Will you continue any of the practices you’ve established these past twelve weeks? Which were your favorite activities? Did you gravitate more toward yoga, journaling or meditation? Did you surprise yourself at all?

If you journal more than once, try to get specific about one or two ways you can continue your journey. Make a plan to attend a yoga class or a meditation retreat. Download an app. Or just come back here a few times a week. These course materials are yours for six months from your course start date! Brainstorm all the small ways you can cultivate the life you’re discovering.

Picture your perfect day. I offered this as an option way back in Week One. Has that day changed? Start be describing the day — morning, noon and night — in as much detail as possible. Then, if there’s time, go back and look at ways you can find elements of the “perfect” day every day.

If you have completed the journal prompts above, then simply let yourself write for ten minutes without any rules or restrictions. Consider the prompts, your previous journal entries this week, and just let your pen go!

Yoga Flow

Many thanks to The Mercedes Club, Hell’s Kitchen, NY, for letting me record these yoga flows in their gorgeous yoga studio.

Meditation

If you prefer to meditate on your own, unguided: We end much the same way we started: by meditating on our intention. How do you want to show up for yourself? For the people you love? For the people you've yet to meet?
